The Free Press Community (FPC) is an extension of The National Free Press (NFP), a Global Public Media System.
Designed as a continuance of the NFP concept with its dedication to Covering and Supporting Free Press, Free Speech and Human Rights, the FPC has been built with as many ways for a person to voice their opinions as possible and then share it with their friends, families and Members.
The FPC is open for everyone over 18 to join and is free of any charge. Qualifying Organizations are welcome to join and use the FPC to enlighten Members of their cause.
The FPC comes with the same type of community setup as other popular social networking sites and it’s been developed to be user-friendly with easy to access Community sections, Privacy settings, Applications and other control and user settings.
We made the Community sections easy to get around, making navigating and using the Community easy. The Free Press Forum (FPF) has a Community Support section for Members with questions about using the Community and there is a Help and Instructions section in the Main Community area.
We have the Facebook Connect application available to make signing up and logging on to the FPC easier and faster. With this in place a new Member can bring their Profile info and friends to the FPC.
Why join this Community…
With communities such as Facebook, mySpace, Bebo, and others hanging around why join any other community? It’s a good question; on the other hand, if you are a supporter of Free Speech and Human Rights, then this will be a great Community to belong to as well!
The FPC is for people who are looking for a place to connect with others who are interested in keeping the lines of free information open and to use the Community as a means to communicate this to each other and to encourage others to join in!
The Community is our Members personal ‘Free Press’ space which is aligned with the National Free Press, and as the NFP Media Series expands and grows with new Country Editions, the FPC will become more prevalent online.
Your Community. Your Stuff.
That’s a promise, and it’s written into the Terms of Service (TOS).
Your images, words, videos and anything else you mutter on and in your Profile and throughout the Community in the Forum and your Blog is all yours!
We do not do anything, with anything, that is yours. Period.
And when the time comes that for whatever reason a Member feels like closing their account, they can delete all their material and themselves at any time. We keep nothing on our server.
An advertisement-free community…
The NFP is advertisement-free and it stands to reason that our Community is as well. So you won’t be bombarded by ads nor sent specific ads because you typed in barbeques!
